Cooperative Advertising Policy
Warehouse Distributors
Effective December 31, 2007
- Flex-a-lite’s logo will be supplied by Flex-a-lite and must be featured prominently in all ads to qualify for coop dollars.
- Allowances are based on factory net billings only.
- Allowances are given in the form of a credit memorandum, based on the receipt of itemized customer expenditures, including tear sheet for each advertisement (print media) or proof of performance (TV or Radio) and invoice(s). Credits may not be taken until authorized by Flex-a-lite.
- Flex-a-lite will supply co-op advertising materials in reasonable quantities at no charge.
- Flex-a-lite will pay 150% for all new product listed in single consumer advertisement. Visit our web site for a list of new products that qualify;

- Flex-a-lite will pay 100% of Warehouse Distributors media costs for consumer advertising of Flex-a-lite’s products.
- Flex-a-lite will pay 50% of Warehouse Distributors media costs for consumer advertising when the Flex-a-lite logo or product is included in an advertisement or on the same page as a competitor.
- Co-op is limited to 5% of the total net factory billings for the previous year.
Requirements & Procedure:
- Newspapers- Established and audited daily newspapers qualify. Weekly or the periodic newspapers (prior approval).
- Magazines- Established and audited magazines with circulation coverage patterns approximating the trading area of the WD or Jobber / Retailers outlets qualify. Magazines, which offer spot regional coverage, will also qualify.
- Television- TV advertising on listed commercial stations qualifies (prior approval).
- Radio-Local Market commercial radio stations qualify.
- Other Media- Other local market media (direct mail, transit, bill boards, etc.) qualify.
- Catalog pages (prior approval).
- Apparel/promotional item claims must include a sample of the item and the paid invoice. Limited to $500.00 annually. The logo of both WD and Flex-a-lite must appear. If multiple manufacturers appear, the appropriate percentage will apply (prior approval).
Unacceptable Advertising Claims:
- Co-op is also paid on ads for MAP protected products. However, if any ads submitted for Co-op feature MAP protected products that are below the appropriate MAP price(s), the ENTIRE ad claim will be denied.
- Credit will not be issued for anything not receiving pre-approval including, Newspapers, Television, Catalog pages and apparel/promotional items. Misprinted logos, images, part numbers and obsolete part numbers will not be reimbursed under this policy.
- The co-op promotional advertising allowance applies only to advertising done in a single calendar year. All claims must be submitted within 60 days of placement and no later than January 31st. All co-op promotional funds unclaimed by January 31st are forfeited. Unused co-op funds are not accumulated.
